Do I qualify for dental implants?

Wanting to replace your natural teeth after tooth loss poses a number of questions about the best solution. Many people believe that dental implants are the most lifelike way to replace missing teeth because they actually integrate with your bone.

A few factors will determine if you are a good candidate for dental implants.

Overall health – A complete medical history will review your overall health and identify any complications in advance. Certain medications can complicate the procedure. We will go over anything that might obstruct dental implant treatment at your exam.

Bone quality – Having enough high-quality bone to support a dental implant is essential. Bone loss does not automatically disqualify you from dental implants. We offer bone grafting and sinus augmentation to make it possible for you to move forward.

Sufficient space – If your tooth loss occurred a while ago, your natural teeth may have begun to shift toward the space left by your tooth. Additional treatment can make it possible to move forward with treatment.

Commitment – Most of the success of your dental implant will depend on you taking care of your oral health. If you have periodontal disease or decay, we will need to address those conditions first to ensure success.
