I tested negative for sleep apnea, but my partner says I am still snoring. Can you help?

Snoring is often an indication of sleep apnea, but not always. The presence of sleep apnea should be identified by an accredited sleep specialist to rule out this serious medical condition that can impact your heart, weight, and other aspects of your health.

Still, loud snoring can disrupt your sleep and that of your partner and family. Couples often find themselves in two separate rooms to enable everyone to get quality sleep. Additionally, those people who snore sometimes wake up with a sore throat or the feeling that they did not have the most restful sleep.

Like sleep apnea, we can treat snoring using oral appliance therapy. An oral appliance fits over the upper and lower teeth and works by gently guiding the lower jaw forward slightly, opening the airway and moving excess tissue that causes snoring.

Oral appliance therapy for snoring provides a less invasive choice for patients wishing to avoid surgery to solve their snoring problem. We proudly offer this anti-snoring device in our Westwood, NJ dental office to promote healthy sleep and an improved quality of life for our patients.
